So you’ve just dropped into your mech and you’re a little overwhelmed?
Here’s a guide to help you get acquainted.
Why can't I see when I spawn?
Most visibility issues come from incomplete mech startup.
Make sure all four startup switches are flipped on. Many players miss the third switch.
If systems are active and it’s still dark, you may have spawned facing a wall — try turning around.

Where are the in-game settings and options?
Open your wrist menu by rolling your left arm over (like you're checking your watch). From there, you can access:
Scoreboard
Audio settings
Mic selection
Tutorial toggles
Player muting
Loadout info
This is your control hub during matches.

How do I turn off cockpit tutorial videos?
Wrist Menu → Options → Toggle tutorial videos off.
Pro tip: If you disable them, make sure you understand the mechanics they cover. You can always rewatch tutorials from the console in the hangar.
Why can’t I hear other players clearly?
You can’t turn the comms up, but you can bring the effects down to balance things a bit.
Balance your audio levels:
Wrist Menu → Options → Audio
Effects: ~65
Comms: 100
Adjust Master Volume to preference
This helps voice comms cut through battlefield noise.
Why isn’t my mic working?
Your mic is muted by default every time you join a match or lobby.
To unmute:
Tap the mic icon in the cockpit (top right), or
Tap the mic icon next to your name in the lobby
Important:
Mic and speaker controls are separate.
It is possible that you’ve accidentally configured it so people hear you but you can’t hear them.
If teammates say that they still can’t hear you or you sound far away, check that the correct microphone hardware is selected under:
Wrist Menu → Options → Audio → Mic Selection.
Please remember that we have an open comms system. If your mic is on, anything you say is broadcast out. Loud noise in the background may also be picked up. If you need to make a phone call, answer a question from your SO, or there's a song in your heart that you feel you need to belt out, mute your mic before you do to spare the other 15 people on comms. And one more thing: chewing gum is so very, very loud.
What’s the difference between World Chat and Team Chat?
Use the AB button to switch between channels.
World Chat – Everyone hears you (social play happens here often).
Team Chat – Only your team hears you.
Channel indicators:
Circle icon = World
Rectangle icon = Team
NOTE: in World Chat:
Teammates sound clear
Enemies sound slightly scratchy

How do I mute a noisy player?
Is someone singing? Chewing gum? Being rather annoying? It’s possible to mute them, and here’s how:
Wrist Menu → Score → Select player → Mute
Mute lasts until the match ends.
You can also mute players in the lobby by tapping the speaker icon next to their name.
How do I unlock new mechs and weapons?
Play! You unlock equipment by leveling up. You get levels by the amount of experience you gain (shown in white text on your HUD). You gain experience by playing, BUT not all play is equal for gain EXP.

Ways to get EXP:
Kill: 100
Assist: 25–75
Capture: 100
Neutralize: 50
Win: 300
Lose: 100
Deploy Scanner: 15
Shield Placement: 30
Repair Pod: 30
Fastest EXP strategy for beginners:
Play Recon in Conquest
Deploy all 6 scanners
Focus on capturing points
Avoid unnecessary duels
Rotate between unguarded objectives
You can earn thousands of EXP without heavy combat.
Pro Tip: Deploy scanners as Recon, then respawn as another class — scanners remain active.
Which team am I on?
You can tell if you're on the red team or the blue team by clues in your cockpit.
Your briefing screen, glove color, and structural integrity bar will be your team color.
You can also look at the score tab on your left wrist menu and see who is on which team.
Your teammates will show up on your HUD with green labels.

What do the symbols on the scorecard mean?
In addition to player name, chat channel, and if they are actively chatting (speaker icon appears), you have the following info in the other columns:
Crosshair - Number of Kills
Skull - Deaths
Flag - Objectives Captured / Activated (Uplink)
Chevrons - Player's rank (at the time of writing this does not seem to work)
Star - Total EXP points this match.

What’s the deal with the floating grey button on the panel?
That's used for launching custom maps that aren't included in the map select screen. You can learn more about that here.
If you hit the button without a custom map installed, it launches you into a broken mech model. You should be able to use your left wrist menu to escape.

What about the red buttons on the left of the panel?
The first two (closest to the left) currently don't do anything, but the rightmost two cycle through the available banners that you see in the top of the hangar. The banners are representative of past and current mech clans.
If you would like to join a clan, you can do so in our Discord.
