New map, gameplay upgrades, improved onboarding, and our first merch drop.

If you haven’t stepped into the cockpit since launch, this isn’t the same Iron Rebellion.

Over the past year, we’ve been steadily rebuilding and expanding across every layer of the game. We’ve built upon what we started, listened to the community, brought on more team members, and really took things to the next level. From core systems and performance to new modes, maps, and customization, this isn’t the same experience players saw at launch.

Over the past year, we’ve rolled out major updates including:

  • New maps and full environment overhauls

  • 8v8 Warzone battles with massive performance improvements

  • New game modes like Deathmatch and Gun Game

  • Deep mech customization with a full camo system

  • A complete AI overhaul (to begin laying the foundation for PvE)

  • Continuous UI, interaction, and optimization improvements across the board

And yes, fully functional cockpit coffee machines.

Every update has pushed Iron Rebellion closer to what we’ve always envisioned: a true mech pilot experience.

Our latest update is another step forward and here’s what’s new:

General Improvements

  • Tutorial onboarding improvements to better guide new players.

  • The first tutorial manual now persists after returning from the tutorial until completion or opt-out.

  • Made the Easy setting AI easier. (They miss more shots now).

  • Fixed a bug where the kicking system allowed you to rejoin the room immediately.

  • Fixed a memory leak that occurred the longer you played matches.

  • Fixed a minor bug in the AI count algorithm when playing an 8v8 team game mode alone with bots only.

  • Fixed a bug where the very first uplink sequence failed to register properly.

Balancing

  • Guardian Class Ability Expansion: Added a new ability for deploying a mobile personal shield. It will have a shorter duration and lower health than the standard shield, but it stays attached to you as you move.

  • Buffed Minigun: Increased spin-up speed and decreased spin-down speed for better maneuver purposes.

  • Buffed Gauss Rifle: Slightly increased accuracy.

Mechs in a dark, industrial city engage in battle. One fires a bright blue laser, creating explosions and smoke around. Tense atmosphere.

New Official Map

  • Implemented a new official map, Ironhive Sewers, revamped from a community map by KForce. A dark, claustrophobic environment that captures the feeling of navigating a true underground sewer system.

Merch

  • We’ve just rolled out our first iteration of official Iron Rebellion merch. This is something that we’ve been wanting to get moving for years and it’s finally live. Keep an eye on this because it’s going to grow with us, too!

If you’ve been watching from the sidelines or haven’t checked in since launch, there’s never been a better time to step into the cockpit. We’ve spent the past year proving what Iron Rebellion can be and we’re only accelerating from here.

Iron Rebellion is a VR multiplayer sci-fi mech shooter SIM that puts you in the pilot’s seat. Customize your mech, control every system from inside the cockpit, and face other players in fast-paced, tactical PvP battles. Iron Rebellion is available now on Meta and Steam.
